sleep is for the weak...and the tired

I had a great and sleepless weekend. I got off work at 6:30am on Saturday and then left for the Sasquatch festival at the Gorge at about about 7:30. I didn't sleep in the car so I ended up staying awake all day. Sasquatch was so much fun, but it also had its low moments. The lowest would have to be the 20 minute hail storm that delayed the festival for 2 hours. The high points definately outweighed the storm. My most favorite shows were The Shins, Sufjan Stevens and the Flaming Lips. The Flaming Lips put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. I don't really have the time to go into the details, but it was amazing. I got home after 5am, then got up at 9am for worship practice. I slept 3 hours in a 57 hour span. Almost 40 straight without sleep. I don't think I'll try that again...ever.

downpour

It is raining...a lot...again. We've had several downpours in the last few days, along with some lightning and thunder storms. It's sort of a nice change from the heat of last week. But let's save that for another month or so.
I get to go to the Sasquatch festival on Saturday. I haven't been to a concert in quite some time so this will make up for it, and then some.
My soccer team lost 5 to 4 yesterday. It was a very disappointing loss since we had a lead for most of the game and gave up the game winner with about 5 minutes to play. We are now 3-3 with one league game left and then the playoffs. That'll be fun.

i'll be around

I'm going to Portland this weekend. I'll be missing some fun things here in the Walla's, but I will attending some equally, if not more, fun things in Portland. I haven't seen my sister since Christmas. That's crazy talk.

my hair

I got my hair cut the other day. It was long, and I wanted it short. Here's some before and after pictures.

good birthday, but no birthday goal

Last Sunday was my birthday. It was a good one. I had a BBQ at my house which I will be doing frequently during the Summer. The highlight of the BBQ (aside from receiving an excellent gift of money towards new golf clubs to replace my stolen ones from great friends) was a guy named Bill who I had never met before, but came with my friend Junglebird. It was a potluck style BBQ, so Bill (a Whitman student) decided to bring some food from a Whitman event he crashed. He brought two crossants (spelling?), a bagel, and a cup full of smashed pancakes. This was followed by my housemate James later in the day with piece of chicken in one hand and one of Bill's pancakes in the other. I laughed and laughed.
I then played in a soccer game that we unfortunately lost 4-3. I had no birthday goal, but I almost had two great assists that Beezer just couldn't finish. But it was still a fun game.
