i broke the record for broken records

When I visited my parents house recently, I was able to find all of our old records that I listened to growing up. I found over 30 records that I took with me. Most of them are amazing, some are just for the sake of memories. Among this group are records such as Music Machine, Bill Cosby, Soundtracks from Wizard of Oz, E.T., and Star Wars, folk singers such Jim Croce and Dan Whittemore, 60's/70's rock and rollers The Beatles, and the Monkeys, and others like Perry Como and Bing Crosby. I think out of all the records I found , my favorite is Keith Green. It's amazing! On top of that, I got another awsome record from Bob and Lita, the Back to the Future soundtrack. Thanks guys.

that works too

I guess I just keep speaking (or writing) too soon. When Home Depot told me that they had filled the position I had applied for, they also set me up for an interview for a cashier position. I wasn't getting my hopes up after the let down. But sure enough, within an hour of being interviewed this morning, they called me back and offered me the cashier job. That's happy. In about another week or two, Big 5 is going to train me to be a cashier as well. Within a month, I'll be a cashier superstar.

maybe not

I was quite confident in getting a certain job at Home Depot which would give me the kind of hours I need. However, that did not work out. But I am being scheduled at my other job a lot more. Hopefully that'll continue.

weathering genius

First of all I have little job news as of yet. I have had two interviews at Home Depot, and according to a former assistant manager at Home depot, if you get a second interview then you'll get the job. I called them yesterday and they told me that they had more positions to fill and they wanted to hire train all the positions at the smae time so they haven't made any final decisions yet. I should still get it though. I'm actually pretty excited about working both there and Big 5 (other than the evening and weekend hours I'll be getting). I never heard from the other company, but I don't really want to do phone sales anyway, even though it would be better hours and pay.
On to the real reason I'm writing. I saw a weather report on TV today. While pointing to his weather map the weather man says, "You see all this weather up here (pointing to Canada)? It's going to stay up here until later today." Apparently we aren't getting any weather down here in the states until later. That's too bad.

i lied

My first trip back to Portland was intended to be in later August, but instead ending up being the later part of this past weekend. I left right after church on Sunday and went directly to some family friends' house where I saw several people that I hadn't seen (or hardly seen) since the old Christian Community days (5th grade and prior). Of these people was Brad Watkins who was my best friend in 4th and 5th grade until he moved to California. We hadn't seen each other in over 12 years. That was a little weird, but fun. Monday morning I had to go to the bank and get a few things dealt with that would have been harder to do in Walla Walla since I hadn't changed my address with the bank yet. Then I hung out with Whipple for a bit. I was supposed to be at work by 5:30pm so I was going to leave around 12:30 and have little time to get ready, but I was called to come in at 4:15 instead, or as close as I could seeing as how I was in Portland when I got a the call. I got home at 4:00 and made it to work before 4:30. I then worked until 10:00. When I got home I ate some enchillada's, which reminded me of a Deep Thought: "If God lives inside of us like some people say, then I hope he likes enchilladas, because that's what he's getting."
