new kids on the "blog"

That's the worst title I've ever come up with. I love it.
It has been awhile since my last post. I just haven't been in a blogging mood recently, but I'll write anyways now that I have some topic ideas from Lita.
Leading a home group has been good so far. I've only done it twice and G has been co-leading it with me. That's a good thing because I'm not good at leading ministry with groups of people that are of the same age or older. It's mostly a new experience and I'm gladly accepting the challenge.
I was approached by my boss at Big 5 about the promotion I wrote about a few weeks ago. There is still a chance that the higher up folk of Big 5 will choose not to fill that postion, but it is likely that they will fill it and if they do, I will get it. I'm still a little unsure about accepting for multiple reasons, but I'm leaning towards taking it. I'll keep you updated.
The next time I'll be in Portland is Nov. 22-24. Sorry Lita.
About the Midget Rhino, I'm not at liberty to speak of such matters.

p-tizzle

I miss Portland a lot. The people, the places, the food (both restaraunt and mothers home cooked). This past weekend was tons of fun, however I will need to make an extra effort to see a few people that I didn't get to see this time around. And hopefully certain friends won't be in the land of non-existance when I come back next.
I start leading a home group tonight. I've hardly ever been to a home group before so that'll be interesting.

work and work

Today (Saturday) I worked both jobs for a combined 10 hours. I really don't like doing that on a Saturday, but I don't have much choice right now. However, I did get some interesting info from one of my bosses/former bosses at Big 5 (today was his last day at our store). He took a postion at another store as the head manager instead of assistant. People are now being moved around to fill the open positions. Jake (the guy leaving) told me today that he spoke with Dana (the manager) and they decided that I would be given a position of Manager Trainee. This is the lowest of the management postions, but management none the less. This means that I would get 40 hours a week (no more Home Depot), a pay increase of about $4.00 an hour, and great medical benefits. Jake wasn't really supposed to tell me this, but it sounds like it's really going to happen. However, he said it may be up to 2 months before this change occurs (I don't know why). I may not even hear about it from Dana for several weeks. I guess I'll just continue on as normal and not get my hopes up too high. There also may be a scheduleing issue. I don't think I could continue having Sundays and Wednesday nights off if I were a Trainee. I'll have to see how he would work with me on that. As good as this promotion would be, I came to Walla Walla to help plant a church, not work at Big 5. We'll see what happens.
