I'm really excited about going on a roadtrip next month. I will take lots of pictures for anyone who cares to see my adventures across the country.

that's how you spell it? "Hoot Nanny" weird. All this time I would've written it "hoot'n nanny". Where does that come from anyway? Anyone know?
I am not sure of scheduled events or expectations when I am in your town, but I want to hang out... should I call you or something next weekend?
Let me rephrase.
All this time I've never written or spoke "Hoot Nanny"-- but if I would a nanny would not have been in there. more like a "hoot'n Annie" maybe =)
correct spelling found: HOOTENANNY--1 A dingus, an imaginary object 2. Any of various tools, appliances, or contrivances as a device making it possible to saw from under a log; a jig for sharpening shears in the correct angle, a kind of sleigh.
Another source said, "I imagine it revolves around the owl hooting and the goat ("nanny goat" being a colloquial term for a female goat) doing something amusing. ...Whatever the origin, by 1940 "hootenanny" was being used to mean an informal social event or party, and by 1957 it had arrived at its current meaning of a gathering of folksingers in concert. (with some degree of audience participation)
